DESCRIPTION:Hello! I’m Courtney and I’m the chunky-junkie behind The Chunky Needle!  I first started knitting in the late 80s and took up chunky knitting twenty years ago. The Chunky Needle has been trading since 2018. \nChunky knitting appeals to me as the finished product is so unusual and dramatic.  Friends and family always ask\, “where did you get that?!  I want one too!”  The process takes less time than conventional knitting\, so results can be seen quickly.  Working with unspun merino wool is a dream as it’s so incredibly soft and tactile and the colour range is vast.  The whole process is actually quite hypnotic and incredibly relaxing. \nI started The Chunky Needle as I loved the look\, colour\, texture and aesthetic that chunky knits can bring to a room. \nKnit your very own chunky knit blanket using your arms as needles. Blankets measure approximately 30” x 50” and use 2kg of 100% hypoallergenic\, super soft Merino wool or 2kg of vegan friendly acrylic wool. DESCRIPTION:The course will be held in the Tower Barn at Broadway Tower\, near Broadway\, Worcestershire from 10am until 4.30pm.  Please arrive around 9.45am.  There is parking there and lunch\, tea and coffee will be provided\, as well as wool! \nYou can choose what animal you would like to make (within reason!)\, but it is best to pick something you love and you are familiar with how it looks.  We use a wire armature frame and make a model around 6 to 7 inches in height.  Please bring reference pictures/photos that inspire you and especially a picture of the animal from the side view\, so that we can get the proportions right – I will help you with this\, don’t worry about it!  I will also have some photographs and books for reference.  Please let me know what animal you would like to make so I can bring the right colour wool! \nYou will learn the process of needle-felting and hopefully you will finish your sculpture in the day\, but there is no pressure to do so and I will ensure that you will be able to finish off at home if necessary.  Felting is an enjoyable and surprisingly easy craft. \nAll materials and tools are provided.  So you don’t need to bring anything but enthusiasm! Felting tools and wool will also be available to purchase after the course if you so wish.

DESCRIPTION:Hello! I’m Courtney and I’m the chunky-junkie behind The Chunky Needle!  I first started knitting in the late 80s and took up chunky knitting twenty years ago. The Chunky Needle has been trading since 2018. \nChunky knitting appeals to me as the finished product is so unusual and dramatic.  Friends and family always ask\, “where did you get that?!  I want one too!”  The process takes less time than conventional knitting\, so results can be seen quickly.  Working with unspun merino wool is a dream as it’s so incredibly soft and tactile and the colour range is vast.  The whole process is actually quite hypnotic and incredibly relaxing. \nI started The Chunky Needle as I loved the look\, colour\, texture and aesthetic that chunky knits can bring to a room. \nKnit your very own chunky knit blanket using your arms as needles. Blankets measure approximately 30” x 50” and use 2kg of 100% hypoallergenic\, super soft Merino wool or 2kg of vegan friendly acrylic wool. SUMMARY:Needle Felt Workshop with Furzie
DESCRIPTION:The course will be held in the Tower Barn at Broadway Tower\, near Broadway\, Worcestershire from 10am until 4.30pm.  Please arrive around 9.45am.  There is parking there and lunch\, tea and coffee will be provided\, as well as wool! \nYou can choose what animal you would like to make (within reason!)\, but it is best to pick something you love and you are familiar with how it looks.  We use a wire armature frame and make a model around 6 to 7 inches in height.  Please bring reference pictures/photos that inspire you and especially a picture of the animal from the side view\, so that we can get the proportions right – I will help you with this\, don’t worry about it!  I will also have some photographs and books for reference.  Please let me know what animal you would like to make so I can bring the right colour wool! \nYou will learn the process of needle-felting and hopefully you will finish your sculpture in the day\, but there is no pressure to do so and I will ensure that you will be able to finish off at home if necessary.  Felting is an enjoyable and surprisingly easy craft. \nAll materials and tools are provided.  So you don’t need to bring anything but enthusiasm! Felting tools and wool will also be available to purchase after the course if you so wish.
